Cancer- What is cancer?

Cancer is a disease in which cells in various organs of the body grow and spread uncontrollably. Cancer can occur anywhere in the body, but it most commonly affects the skin, respiratory system, blood, digestive system, and breast. There are two types of cancer: carcinoma (cancer that starts in tissue) and sarcoma (cancer that starts in bone or connective tissue). Cancer can be hard to recognize because it often looks like another condition or no symptoms at all.

*Cervical Cancer - this type of cancer occurs when DNA changes form abnormal cells in the cervix.

*Esophageal Cancer - this type of cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow in the esophagus.

*Endometrial Cancer - this type of cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow in the lining of the uterus (endometrium)

*Lung Cancer - this type of cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow in one's lungs
